Local Charity Spotlight – The Social Supermarket

As part of the launch of the RUCT Swap Shop, we have been working with a few local organisations that support people within our community. The Social Supermarket at Rotherham Minister is one of the charities, and they operate as a food bank and support network for members.

The Social Supermarket invite members to visit their shop, join in with activities, and receive support in making positive life changes. Those struggling to afford food pay £3 per visit for access to the shop, and resources available. Open at the Rotherham Minister Wednesday and Thursday 11-2pm, find out how you can access the service here or how you can help.

RUCT Swap Shop

RUCT have now hosted 2 successful Swap Shop’s, where we met and helped many families and organisations with our donations. We would like to thank everyone that has donated so far, from old RUFC shirts to winter clothing, we appreciate it all. Please remember that we are taking donations at any time at the AESSEAL New York Stadium, as well as on matchdays at the Fan Zone and our final swap shop before Christmas will be open on Tuesday 18th December.

We are after donations of the following items:

Football boots and kit

Warm winter clothing, particularly coats and hats

Trainers and shoes

Toiletries

Non-perishable food

Selection boxes – The Firehouse Group are collecting these on match days too!

Please remember that to be able to pass these on to individuals and our charity partners items must be clean and in good condition (i.e. no major rips/holes/stains). Our donation boxes will be in the Youth Hub at anytime and in the Fan Zone on all match days.

If you have any questions or queries please email community@rotherhamunited.net.

January 2024 Holiday Camps

Rotherham United Community Trust, Rotherham Parent Carer Forum and Places Leisure are back for in the New Year with SIX Holiday camps across the town.

Taking place at Aston, Rotherham and Maltby Leisure Centres RUCT & Places Leisure come together to deliver swimming focused camps! At New York Stadium join Becky from Yogalols for a week of fun and physical activity including various types of Yoga, arts, crafts and singing. Parkgate Astro once again is supported by Rotherham Parent Carer Forum to provide a football and sport camp catering for children with SEND and we are delighted to open up our Future Stars Football camps at Wickersley Sports College for HAF participants for the first time!

HAF camps have been a huge success for the last two years at RUCT, and this will only continue! Each camp is hosted by our UEFA and FA qualified coaches, where children can come and engage in sports, crafts, games and much more.

RUCT also work along side RMBC and Fareshare to ensure that every child attending receives a meal and food to take home with them, to help bridge the gap of the school holidays for families who may need extra support.
