Rotherham United Community Trust (RUCT) is delighted to announce a generous £5,000 donation from Lavender International in support of the Trust’s ambitious 50K Power Play campaign.
The donation will fund the purchase of one specialist Powerchair, helping transform opportunities for children and young people involved in RUCT’s Powerchair Football programme, currently the only provision of its kind in South Yorkshire.
The 50K Power Play campaign aims to raise £50,000 to replace outdated and damaged equipment, improve player safety, and create new pathways into competitive disability sport. The new chairs will allow participants to train and compete to a higher standard, while opening opportunities to represent Rotherham at regional and national level competitions.
Lavender International, a globally recognised provider of non-destructive testing (NDT) training, consultancy, and examination services, has pledged its support to the campaign as part of its commitment to supporting local communities and creating positive social impact.
The contribution marks a major milestone for the campaign, with the funding covering the full cost of one competition-standard Powerchair.
Founded in Sheffield in 1976, Lavender International has built an international reputation within Non-Destructive Testing, delivering specialist training and services across the globe while remaining committed to supporting causes within the local region.
At Lavender International, we are passionate about supporting initiatives that create meaningful opportunities within our local communities. Supporting young people is something that is important to us, both through local community projects and through the training and apprenticeship opportunities we provide.
The work being carried out by Rotherham United Community Trust through the Powerchair Football programme is truly inspiring, giving young people the opportunity to build confidence, develop skills, and feel part of a team environment.
We are incredibly proud to support the 50K Power Play campaign and help fund a specialist Powerchair that will make a real difference to the lives of participants and their families.
RUCT’s Powerchair Football programme provides inclusive opportunities for individuals with physical disabilities to play football, develop confidence, build friendships, and be part of a team environment. Since launching, the programme has continued to grow, creating life-changing opportunities both on and off the pitch.
RUCT is continuing to call on local businesses, organisations, and individuals to support the Trust through donations, sponsorships, and fundraising initiatives.
