Rotherham United Community Trust is continuing to support people living with dementia, alongside carers, family members, and friends, through a range of welcoming Dementia Support Sessions across the borough.
Building on the success of the Millers Memory Club, the programme has expanded to help reduce social isolation, provide clearer support and guidance for families, and create dementia-friendly spaces within the local community. With around 3,000 people aged 65+ living with dementia locally, the sessions aim to offer meaningful opportunities for people to connect, socialise, and access support.
The sessions are open to everyone affected by dementia and include support, conversation, games, activities, and the chance to meet others in a friendly and relaxed environment.
Our session at the AESSEAL New York Stadium continues the much-loved Millers Memory Club, which has used the power of football memories to bring people together and support former players and members of the community living with dementia.
