Rotherham United Community Trust (RUCT) is thrilled to announce SMH Group as the official sponsor of the final leg of the 100 Miles for 100 Years challenge, which will take participants from Market Harborough to Northampton Town’s Sixfields Stadium.

Taking place from 8–11 October 2025, the challenge celebrates Rotherham United’s centenary year, with walkers covering 100 miles over four stages—Rotherham to Mansfield, Mansfield to Loughborough, Loughborough to Market Harborough, and finally Market Harborough to Northampton.

SMH Group are long-standing supporters of community initiatives across South Yorkshire, regularly engaging with local charities, sports clubs and education providers to make a real difference. Their commitment to giving back perfectly aligns with RUCT’s mission to use the power of football to inspire, engage and improve lives.

Adding extra excitement to the final day, the team will be joined by Rotherham United and Northampton Town legend Ryan Cresswell, who will walk alongside participants as they complete the journey in time for the Millers’ away fixture.

Jonathan Allan, RUCT Director of Development, said:
“We’re delighted to have SMH Group supporting the final leg of this incredible journey. Their backing will help us finish strong and ensure we hit our fundraising target. To have a club hero like Ryan Cresswell walking with us makes it even more special.”

The 100 Miles for 100 Years campaign aims to raise over £10,000 to support RUCT’s extensive community work, including mental health support groups, cancer recovery sessions, youth holiday camps, and the 100 Years, 100 Schools initiative.

Sharon Webb, who runs SMH Groups Rotherham office commented: “We’re proud to support the final leg of the 100 Miles for 100 Years challenge, and in doing so, we are delighted to have played a part in helping them reach their fundraising goal.”
