From Friday 16th to Sunday 18th May, Rotherham United Community Trust is thrilled to host an unforgettable weekend of Play on the Pitch activities at New York Stadium! This special event aims to bring the community together while raising vital funds for The Rotherham Hospital & Community Charity, Shiloh Homeless Charity, and our very own Community Trust. All funds raised will be split equally between these incredible causes, ensuring they can continue their life-changing work across our town.
Business Cup – Friday 16th May
Kicking off the weekend in style, the Business Cup is a fantastic opportunity for local companies to showcase their teamwork and footballing prowess on the iconic New York Stadium pitch. Businesses from across the region will compete in a friendly yet competitive tournament, offering a unique chance to network, bond as a team, and support vital local charities. Whether you’re playing or cheering from the stands, this event is set to be an unmissable occasion for the Rotherham business community!
Family Fun Day – Saturday 17th May
Saturday promises to be a jam-packed day of entertainment for all ages! The Family Fun Day will feature a wide array of activities, including live music, face painting, balloon modelling, magic shows, and exciting football sessions for young fans. With plenty of food stalls and games, there’s something for everyone to enjoy. Bring the whole family down to soak up the atmosphere and help raise funds for three fantastic causes while having an incredible day out!
The Big Sleepout – Saturday 17th to Sunday 18th May
Closing the weekend with a powerful show of solidarity, The Big Sleepout invites participants to spend the night at New York Stadium to raise awareness and funds for homelessness in Rotherham. By taking part, you’ll be supporting Shiloh and the wider community while experiencing a small glimpse of the challenges faced by those sleeping rough. This eye-opening event is a meaningful way to make a difference, and every penny raised will go directly to charities working to combat homelessness in our town.
How You Can Get Involved
To make this weekend truly spectacular, we need YOUR help! We’re looking for talented, passionate, and generous people to donate their time and skills over the weekend. If you’re a:
- Musician or Comedian to keep the energy up
- Face Painter or Balloon Modeller to wow the crowd
- Magician to bring some magic to the day
- Quiz Master to challenge and entertain
- Match Official to referee the action
- Security Staff to keep everything running smoothly
Your time and talent will help ensure more of the money raised goes directly to charity. Plus, this is a great opportunity to showcase your business or brand to hundreds of attendees and thousands more via digital reach!
