Rotherham United Community Trust (RUCT) proudly welcomed 207 students from primary schools across Rotherham to the AESSEAL New York Stadium for a special Maths & English Day in celebration of World Book Day.

Supported by the National Literacy Trust and Premier League Primary Stars, the event aimed to promote literacy and numeracy through creative, football-themed activities. Throughout the day, students engaged in interactive workshops stationed in iconic areas of the stadium, from the dugout to the home changing room, offering a unique and memorable learning experience.

A highlight of the day included a dedicated video message from Jordan Hugill, Cam Dawson, and Joe Powell, who hosted an engaging World Book Day quiz for the students, blending learning with fun. Adding to the excitement, Rotherham United’s beloved mascot Miller Bear made a special appearance, bringing smiles to everyone involved. Students were also treated to a surprise visit from first-team players Pelly Mpanzu and Andre Green, who inspired participants with their presence and positive words.

The event was a tremendous success, reinforcing the power of combining education with sport to inspire young minds. Rotherham United Community Trust remains committed to supporting local schools and empowering students with valuable skills for their future.
