Rotherham United has named Jordan Richings as their Premier League Community Captain in recognition of their commitment and contribution to the game and society.
Over the next two weeks, the Premier League and clubs will be celebrating ‘More Than A Game’ and highlighting the positive impact of Premier League investment into communities and clubs at every level of football.
The Premier League is investing £1.6 billion into wider football and communities between 2022 and 2025 to support football at every level of the game across England and Wales. This world-leading funding into clubs, communities and facilities positively impacts and inspires millions of people.
As part of ‘More Than A Game’, the League will be celebrating more than 100 Community Captains – individuals nominated by Premier League, EFL and National League clubs for their contribution to their local community via programmes funded by the Premier League.
Jordan has been chosen as Rotherham United’s 2025 Community Captain for his incredible commitment to his community and for his hard work as a coach at Rotherham United Community Trust.
On receiving the award, Jordan said: “I’m honoured to be named Rotherham United’s 2025 Community Captain. Football has the power to bring people together and through my work with Rotherham United Community Trust I have been given the chance to make a real difference, and I’m grateful for the amazing people I get to work with every day. This award means a lot, but the real reward is seeing the impact we have in the community. I’m excited to keep doing what I love and hopefully inspire others along the way!”
Rotherham United are proud to celebrate the achievements of our chosen Premier League Community Captain, Jordan, recognising the instrumental role they play: “Jordan has contributed countless hours of his time, including early mornings, evenings, and weekends, to ensure that our sessions are delivered to the highest standard. He goes above and beyond to make sure participants feel safe, included, and engaged, consistently creating an environment where they can have fun and thrive. Jordan works with harder-to-reach communities and in areas where building trust and connection with young people is essential for sustained engagement. Thanks to his patience, approachability, and ability to connect, he has fostered strong relationships with participants, helping to ensure regular attendance and meaningful participation.”
Dylan Hadley, Youth & Inclusion Manager at Rotherham United Community Trust said: “The commitment and effort from Jordan has been outstanding. This award is a well-earned recognition of his hard work and commitment to making a real difference in our community.
He started as a volunteer with Rotherham United Community Trust last February, and in that time, he’s not only secured employment with the trust but also taken on even more responsibility. From Premier League Kicks and Premier League Fans Fund Sessions to supporting United 4 Communities and the Boys Emerging Talent Centre – helping young players find pathways into the academy – his impact has been huge.
We are so proud to have Jordan on our team and we can’t wait to see what the future holds!””
Rotherham United are officially presenting Jordan Richings with his award pitch side when Rotherham United F.C. take on Crawley Town at home on the 29th of March. Jordan will join friend and colleague Dylan in hospitality, and where we invite all fans to join the club in the celebrations of Jordan’s achievements.
Premier League Director of Community Nick Perchard said: “It is so important that we continue to recognise and collectively highlight the positive impact that work within local communities has, championing those at the heart of Premier League-funded initiatives. Success on the pitch enables the Premier League to share unparalleled investment into communities and football at all levels across England and Wales.”
