Celebrating LGBTQ+ History Month
February marks LGBTQ+ History Month, a time to celebrate diversity, promote inclusion, and recognise the contributions of the LGBTQ+ community in sport and beyond. At Rotherham United Community Trust, we are committed to ensuring that the AESSEAL New York Stadium and all our sessions are a place where everyone feels welcome, valued, and respected.
This month, we encourage all Millers fans to stand together in support of equality, inclusion, and respect—on and off the pitch.
Proud Millers
Proud Millers is Rotherham United F.C.’s fans forum for members of the LGBTQ+ community and their allies. You may see them today at the match at the FanZone, you can go and chat with the team about what they do and how to join.

Through our Proud Millers initiative, we support LGBTQ+ individuals by providing inclusive sessions, educational workshops, and safe spaces to enjoy sport without fear of discrimination. Football has the power to bring people together, and we are proud to play our part in making the game truly for everyone.
If you would like to find out more about Proud Millers, please email inclusion@rotherhamunited.net.
Rainbow Project and Rotherham Pride
Today we are also joined by the Rainbow Project and Rotherham Pride at the FanZone!

The Rainbow Project provide individual and group support schemes for LGBTQ+ people. They work via telephone, video call, messenger and text (national) as well as in-person meetings (South Yorkshire) to suit your needs. They can offer group support, one to one support, and advocacy. Alternatively, join their Knitt and Whitt group or their Trans Support Project!

Rotherham Pride is an award winning organisation that provides year round support for the LGBTQIA+ community of Rotherham and the surrounding area. After their 2024 Relaunch they are growing at a great rate, trying to offer as much as they can to our amazing community.
Graduate with Rotherham United!
Bailey Finney, Thomas Burden, and Harrison Spiller are just some examples of the incredible progression opportunities available at Rotherham United Sports College. Having started their journey with us on the BTEC Level 3 Extended Diploma, they have successfully progressed into Higher Education, studying a Foundation Degree in Sports Coaching & Development.
Throughout their studies, Bailey, Thomas, and Harrison have developed an in-depth understanding of the roles and responsibilities of a sports coach. They have gained valuable experience in planning, delivering, and reviewing coaching sessions, building both their knowledge and practical skillsets.

Their hard work and dedication have not gone unnoticed. All three students have recently secured casual employment with Rotherham United Community Trust, working across the Football Development and Schools & Sports Participation teams.
