World Cancer Day 2025
This Tuesday, 4th February, marks World Cancer Day, a global initiative to raise awareness, improve education, and encourage action in the fight against cancer. At Rotherham United Community Trust (RUCT), we are committed to supporting those affected by cancer through our inclusive health and wellbeing programmes.
We offer a range of gentle exercise sessions, including walking football, seated exercise, and tailored fitness classes, designed to help individuals rebuild strength, improve mental wellbeing, and stay connected with others in a supportive environment. Our sessions provide a welcoming space for those living with or recovering from cancer, as well as their families and carers.
Through sport, activity, and community support, we aim to help people stay active, maintain their independence, and improve their quality of life. If you or someone you know could benefit from our health programmes, please get in touch.
Together, we can make a difference.

Celebrating Shine!
SHINE is a community based programme for young people aged 10-16 years that works with the NHS CEW (Complications from Excess Weight) clinics to not only help them address their weight issues but also helps build self-esteem and confidence and combat the bulling and stigma they face. We have been working in partnership with RUFC for 4 years who provide an excellent range of physical activity sessions that helps us achieve the above. They provide a safe environment for our group to participate in sports without shame or embarrassment and our group is so excited to be invited to be flag bearers at the match on Tuesday 4th February. What an achievement – we are so proud of you all.
