December 2024 Holiday Camps
Rotherham United Community Trust, Rotherham Parent Carer Forum and Places Leisure are back with FIVE Holiday camps across the town.
Taking place at Aston, Rotherham and Maltby Leisure Centres RUCT & Places Leisure come together to deliver multi-sports camps! At New York Stadium join Becky from Yogalols for a week of fun and physical activity including various types of Yoga, arts, crafts and singing. Catcliffe once again is supported by Rotherham Parent Carer Forum to provide a football and sport camp catering for children with SEND and we are delighted to open up our Future Stars Football camps at Wickersley Sports College for HAF participants, as well as paying participants!
HAF camps have been a huge success for the last three years at RUCT, and this will only continue! Each camp is hosted by our UEFA and FA qualified coaches, where children can come and engage in sports, crafts, games and much more.

RUCT also work alongside RMBC and Fareshare to ensure that every child attending receives a meal and food to take home with them, to help bridge the gap of the school holidays for families who may need extra support.

Spreading Festive Cheer with the Families First Toy Appeal
This Christmas, Rotherham United Community Trust is proud to support the Families First Charity Toy Appeal, who have been helping to bring joy to children across our community during the festive season for many years.
The appeal collects new, unwrapped toys and gifts for children who might otherwise go without this Christmas. Thanks to the generosity of Millers supporters, we’ve already seen an incredible response, and we’re so grateful to everyone who has donated so far. Your kindness is making a real difference to local families during this special time of year.
If you’d like to get involved, there’s still time to contribute! Donations can be dropped off at Parkgate Shopping Centre during opening hours. Every gift, can help bring a smile to a child’s face this Christmas.
Thank you once again to everyone who has supported this fantastic cause—together, we’re making the season brighter for those who need it most.
Care Home Olympics 2024!
On the 5th of December, our Health & Wellbeing team proudly hosted the Care Home Olympics at AESSEAL New York Stadium, welcoming residents and staff from four local care homes: Broom Lane Care Home, Silverwood Care Home, Alexandra Nursing & Residential Home, and Swallownest Care Home.
The day was packed with excitement and friendly competition as participants took part in activities ranging from skittles to boccia, followed by a lively tea dance. The event concluded with a special awards ceremony, where we were delighted to be joined by first-team players Jonson Clarke-Harris and Shaun McWilliams to celebrate the participants’ achievements.
Medals and trophies were handed out for a variety of accomplishments, including top scorers and even best dressed, with a special moment shared when a 100-year-old participant received their award! Clarke-Harris and McWilliams made the day even more memorable by personally congratulating the winners.
A huge thank you to everyone who took part, from the residents and care home staff to our volunteers and special guests. We hope you all had as much fun as we did and look forward to seeing you again next time!
