EFL Week of Action 2024

From the 15th to the 21st of November, Rotherham United F.C. and Rotherham United Community Trust will proudly participate in the EFL Week of Action! Last year, we launched our award-winning ‘Tidy Up Our Town’ campaign, which earned us the prestigious EFL Green Club of the Year title.

This year, we aim to harness the power of our platform to support smaller, local charities. As a football club, we are fortunate to have a badge that serves as a symbol of pride and unity across Rotherham—a symbol recognized by nearly every resident. Over the past 16 years, Rotherham United Community Trust has worked tirelessly to support every corner of our town, and now, we want to extend that support to local charities, helping them thrive through our outreach.

Introducing the ‘Charity Begins at Home’ campaign for the EFL Week of Action 2024! We’ve selected four incredible charities whose missions deserve a wider audience and can greatly benefit from the generosity of the Rotherham community. The selected charities are:

  • Families First – Christmas Toy Appeal
  • Shiloh – Digital Tech Appeal
  • Rotherham Hospital & Community Charity – Warm Coat Appeal
  • Social Supermarket (Rotherham Minster) – Food Bank Donations

Throughout this season, we’ve already dedicated matchdays to support the Warm Coat Appeal and Food Bank Donations, and we’ve been overwhelmed by the kindness and generosity of the Millers community. Thanks to you, we’ve collected a van full of donations for each cause so far!

This is just the beginning of our ‘Charity Begins at Home’ campaign. Although the EFL Week of Action will spotlight our work with these four charities, the campaign will continue for the remainder of the 2024/25 season. If you’d like to contribute or get involved, please email: community@rotherhamunited.net.

Everyone at Rotherham United F.C. and Rotherham United Community Trust extends a heartfelt thank you to our amazing supporters. Together, we’re making a real difference!

Families First – Christmas Toy Appeal

Today we are happy to be supporting Families First and Rotherham Radio with the launch of the 2024 Christmas Toy Appeal!

The Families First Christmas Toy Appeal is a heartwarming initiative aimed at ensuring every child in Rotherham wakes up to a gift on Christmas morning, regardless of their circumstances. For many families facing financial hardship, the holiday season can be particularly tough.

This appeal collects new, unwrapped toys and gifts for children of all ages, from babies to teenagers, helping to spread joy and ease the burden on parents during this festive time. All of the families supported are identified by local authorities, ensuring that all presents go to those who need them.

By supporting the Christmas Toy Appeal, you can make a direct difference to the lives of children in our community, bringing smiles and holiday cheer to those who might otherwise go without. Whether you donate a toy, gift, or contribute financially, your generosity will help make this Christmas magical for so many.

Every donation, no matter how small, helps to create lasting memories for local families in need. You can donate a present on Saturday the 14th of December at the FanZone! Or join the us at Parkgate on the 4th of November for the official launch with Miller Bear!
