Rotherham United Community Trust have been running Mini Millers sessions for years, helping hundreds of children from 18 months to 5 years old begin their footballing journey, many children have now progressed into the Future Stars pathway, leading to opportunities with RUCT and the RUFC Academy.
Mini Millers is now working with Family Hubs to create new opportunities specifically for young people and their dads across Rotherham. Family Hubs provide advice, guidance and support to children, young people and their families across Rotherham from the point of pregnancy up to age 18 (25 with SEND).
On the 19th of October, our Mini Millers team are excited to welcome Dads for a Mini Millers Match-Day experience!
So, Dads, if you are planning on attending the Rotherham United F.C. v Wrexham A.F.C. with your little one (aged 18 months – 5 years old) then join us at 1:30pm in the GoalZone for a Mini Millers taster session!
Here is what to expect:
- 40-minute taster session with Mini Millers coach – Drew Russell
- Opportunity to go pitch side before the match
- Certificate and stickers for participants
- Teas and coffees & squash provided for free
VAR are supporting the delivery of Family Hubs by creating a network of key VCSE organisations working with families. The VCS Network are crucial partners within the Family Hubs programme, offering advice and guidance sessions, drop in sessions with partner agencies in Health and Social Care, and a range of activities for children from birth to 18 (25 with SEND) and their families, ensuring a continuity of support for all the family, and reducing the need for parents and carers to keep repeating their story.
