Rotherham United Community Trust are excited to announce the return of their Swap Shop, this time packed full of football boots! On Saturday the 31st of August at the RUFC v Huddersfield match, you can swap your old boots for a new pair for free! The Swap Shop would not be possible without the help of the Cif Re-Kicks scheme.
Cif is on a mission to reboot the beautiful game of football for thousands of young people from disadvantaged backgrounds – working with professional clubs and non-profit organisations across the UK to inspire on-pitch confidence through the restoration of used football boots. Teaming up with England and Chelsea footballer Cole Palmer, we aim to provide ‘free kicks’ to budding young players, helping them to feel pitch ready.
Earlier this year Rotherham United Community Trust put out an appeal for old football boots that were usable but needed a good clean-up, and we were impressed by the amount of donations we received. The boots took a trip to the Cif Re-Kicks team and have made their way back to us now looking brand new!
We want to invite you to come to the FanZone before the Millers v Huddersfield match on Saturday the 31st of August, bring your old boots and swap them for a new pair!
Please note that the boots that you donate must be in a useable condition, e.g., no holes, rips, etc. You can find our FanZone located at the front of the AESSEAL New York Stadium, speak to one of our staff members and they will help you find the perfect boots.
Can’t make it to the match? Do not worry, you can donate boots at any one of our sessions, or at the New York Stadium anytime! Look for one of our staff members or donation bins and all boots collected will be sent to Cif again and given VIP treatment ready for re-distribution.
