The AESSEAL New York Stadium echoed with laughter in the recent Easter holidays as Rotherham United Community Trust, in collaboration with club partner Fostering Rotherham, hosted the much-anticipated Miller Bear’s Easter Disco. This heartwarming event brought together families from across the community for an evening of fun-filled activities, an opportunity to meet some of the RUFC first team and shared moments of happiness.

To kick off the event families were greeted by RUFC first team players Odoffin, Lindsay, Wyke, Hatton, and Douglas. They took the time after a training session to mingle with the families in attendance, take photos and give out some autographs, adding an extra layer of magic to the evening. Their involvement not only thrilled the young fans but also exemplified the club’s commitment to its community.

Also joining us for a meet and greet, first-team manager Leam Richardson and coach Rob Kelly added a special touch to the event. Their support and participation highlighted the importance of such initiatives in fostering strong bonds between the club and its supporters.

Children’s faces lit up with excitement as they also met the iconic Miller Bear and got stuck into Easter-themed festivities. After the special guest’s left, the disco began! The event was a resounding success, leaving a lasting impression on all who attended.

Throughout the evening, families enjoyed a variety of activities, including music, dancing with Miller Bear, and every child received a chocolate Easter treat. The joyous atmosphere was infectious as children revelled in the excitement of the occasion, with RUCT staff getting stuck in with all the activities too.

The success of the Miller Bear’s Easter Disco was further highlighted by the overwhelmingly positive feedback from attendees. Sarah Kennedy, from the Fostering Rotherham Team, said “I would just like to thank all of the team from Rotherham United Community Trust for supporting the Meet and Greet event and making it happen for our fostering families. They absolutely loved it, one carer has already been in touch saying that her child was over the moon meeting their heroes.”

Rotherham United Community Trust would like to thank everyone who attended the event, and we hope everyone enjoyed it. We can’t wait to welcome you all back for future events or match days!
