Wednesdays, 11am-1pm, Multi-Agency Drop-in Session
Our friendly, trained staff and volunteers are on hand to help you engage with a range of partners including Rotherham Council’s Homeless Team, Job Centre Plus, Citizens Advice,. Free hot food, drinks, computer access & pastoral support are also available.

We offer a safe place where people will be accepted and supported throughout their time with us. We work alongside every guest to help them to plan for and realise a better future. Our services include:

Advice & Support

We have trained staff and volunteers on hand to help tackle some practical difficulties they may be facing and help people to make the most of the available services.

We’re able to offer a wide range of support, including help finding accommodation, getting registered with a doctor, on-site appointments with a local nurse, accessing benefits and legal advice, as well as offering support to tackle mental health, drug and alcohol issues. We work in partnership with many local organisations, including Doncaster Gate Surgery, Rotherham Hospital, Rotherham Minster and Crisis to provide the very best services.

By offering a safe place to access advice and support, we are able to help people overcome the issues which have led to their homelessness and give them the confidence to build a better life.

Catering & Practical Support

We have a fully equipped commercial kitchen which serves a healthy hot breakfast and lunch. Guests can enjoy their meal in our spacious dining room which offers people the chance to socialise if they want to. There is also the opportunity to have a shower, pick up essential toiletries, use the laundry service or pick out some new clothes.

One of the things that gives us a great sense of pride is that our kitchen was recently awarded a 5* food hygiene rating, which is a tremendous achievement and a real testament to the hard work of the staff and volunteers who provide this invaluable service.

Employment & Skills

An important way to grow in confidence and self-esteem is to take steps towards finding work, whether paid or unpaid or undertaking a full-time education or training course. It enables people to make a positive contribution to their community and gives people a purpose in life. It also makes it less likely that they will become homeless again in the future.

When our guests are ready, we help them move on to employment, education, training or voluntary work in the community. This may involve helping them to prepare CVs, open a bank account and fill in application forms. Guests can attend short courses at Shiloh to boost their employability and we also support them to access opportunities in the community through local colleges and training partners, e.g. CSCS cards, Fork Lift driving, Food Hygiene.

We work with some understanding local businesses who can arrange work placements or suitable voluntary work if they are not ready to seek employment immediately.

Creative Activities

Shiloh offers people the opportunity to try new things. Guests can take part in fun and meaningful activities which help them learn, build their skills and confidence, and make new friends. This is part of helping people to move off the streets and breaking the cycle of homelessness.

Our varied timetable of activities includes painting, crafts, bicycle repairs, cooking and photography. We work closely with local partners like Crisis to offer people good quality, fun and challenging activities.

It was lovely to hear these words from a guest recently:

“I thought my situation was impossible, but somehow you found a way out for me. You made the impossible happen even in the strangest of situations. You are extraordinary people doing an extraordinary job.”

£10 donation could buy a meal for five of our guests.
