Remembrance Sunday
At today’s match, we will be celebrating Remembrance Sunday which is coming up on the 12th of November. Remembrance Sunday is a national opportunity to remember the service and sacrifice of all those that have defended our freedoms and protected our way of life, and today we are celebrating some of the Veterans here within our home town.
Before today’s match Rotherham MCVC will be out at the front of the stadium selling poppies, the poppy symbolises remembrance and hope for a peaceful future. Rotherham MCVC (Rotherham Military Community Veterans Centre) aim’s to provide information services to help all service and ex-service military personnel and their families in Rotherham and its surrounding towns and villages.
We will also be joined by the East Riding Pipe Band, based in Driffield, who will be out pre-match playing some beautiful music. The Last Post will be played by Robert Crick, before kick-off.
