Georgie Kelly joined us in the Goal Zone to launch our Kit Swap Shop on Thursday night.
The Swap Shop is open to everyone, whether you have something to swap or not.
We have a vast array of items from retro Millers shirts and kits to more recent shirts and also boots, shin pads, kids clothing, training wear and team kits.
Volunteers from Social Supermarket, who are based at Rotherham Minster and provide help and support to residents who need it the most, came along to support the event which featured information on how to save energy, recycle, save money and live a healthier lifestyle. Rotherham residents will also be able to access employability information or just grab a hot drink and have a chat during our Swap Shop evenings.
The Swap Shop will next be open on Thursday 23rd November 4pm – 6pm at the in the Goal Zone, in the meantime we are taking donations of all kinds of sports wear, children’s clothing, boots, trainers, shoes, and warm coats.
Donation bins are situated in the ground floor of the goal zone, just in the entrance hall and in the club shop.
Millers Frontman, Georgie Kelly said “what a superb initiative for the people of Rotherham, with worries about the cost of living hanging over people again this winter. It’s not just a room full of old kit, there is some really good, barely used stuff here which people have generously donated, it makes so much sense from a financial and environmental point of view to come and take advantage of this!”
Community Programme Manager, Jonny Allan added “there should be no stigma attached to this, there is no “target” category of person for this scheme, anyone can come along, ask any parent how expensive shoes and clothes are and I know from experience they’d tell you that they could do without the constant expense, we’ve got loads of great kit here so please come and take advantage of it”
