We’re proud to announce the launch of its brand new initiative, The Extra Time Hub.

Led by the Rotherham United Community Sports Trust, the initiative has been set up in collaboration with organisations including the Rotherham U3A, Rotherham Hospice, Active Through Football, Mature Millers, Voluntary Action Rotherham, Rotherham Cancer Care, Rotherham Hospice, Rotherham and Barnsley Mind, and Age UK Rotherham.

The Extra Time Hub, which is completely free of charge, will bring together Rotherham community members to its regular session to not only meet each other but to also get to know key local organisations who will be on hand offering tailored support, guidance and advice.

Each session will see participants enjoy a hot drink and a chat with not only the Trust but also an ambassador from one of the organisations.

Mainly aimed at those in their semi-retirement or retirement ages, the initiative is a first of it’s kind in the town and will be a fantastic opportunity for people to meet others and also find out more about local services available to them.

Coinciding with the Trust’s Millers Dementia Café, The Extra Time Hub is a weekly session held every Tuesday, 1:30pm-3:30pm at The New York Stadium.

Colan Leung, Health and Wellbeing Manager at The Rotherham United Community Sports Trust, said: “We are delighted to announce the details of the Extra Time Hub and we are excited to bring the initiative to the people of Rotherham.

“We’re also honoured to have partnered with so many fantastic local organisations to deliver the programme as it means that our participants will be able to access information about services all in one place. We have partnered with a variety of organisations to ensure there’s something for everyone.”

“We also believe the Extra Time Hub will promote positive social interaction and relationships, and we look forward to seeing the positive impact it will have on the Rotherham community.”
