Jordan Cox signed up to the Youth Hub at Rotherham United Community Sports Trust in the middle of December 2022, after being referred by his work coach from the Job Centre.
Jordan left school over 6 years ago with very few qualifications and no work experience. Jordan developed a poor routine and over time his confidence deteriorated. An initial assessment and action plan was completed with Jordan to determine the level of support needed to help him progress.
At the beginning of January 2023, Jordan enrolled onto a traineeship through Rotherham United Community Sports Trust which has allowed him to start working towards his Maths and English as well as getting valuable work experience at ASD Lighting in Rotherham, 4 days a week.
Jordan’s confidence has grown tremendously since starting the traineeship which is evident through his interaction with others in the group alongside volunteering to scribe on occasions during group discussions. As well as gaining an insight to the world of work, the work placement at ASD lighting has given Jordan a purpose, increased his motivation levels and allowed him to develop a good routine.
Since starting the traineeship, Jordan has shown a desire to learn new skills and a willingness to engage in any task given. The programme will give Jordan the opportunity to flourish and show his full potential.
