Fit Millers returns this January so we caught up with Ian who achieved his goals and commitments when he finished our the 12-week programme in December 2022.
Ian enrolled onto Fit Millers at the same time of handing his notice in at work. Knowing he needed to make some changes in his life with his mental health and weight management, he decided to do something about it.
“I was in a position where I was struggling at work with anxiety and stress, it was affecting me physically and mentally, I needed to make some changes in my life and thought this would be a good stepping block”
Ian joined the programme in September with his own personal goals that he wanted to achieve. Taking onboard the advice on food intake and support home with him, Ian continued managing his diet and exercise throughout the week, he has even bought his own equipment to use at home, and in his personal life he has since had recent success with starting and enjoying a new job.
“Day 1, my goal was to do 10,000 steps a day and I have achieved it every day since being on the course and It has had huge improvements on my health”
Achieving this was a major improvement in Ian’s life and he has changed his mindset and attitude for the better. Being a Rotherham United fan and season ticket holder this has meant so much to Ian, spending 12-weeks at the place he loves whilst feeling better about himself. This is exactly what Fit Millers is all about, to encourage, guide, and educate individuals with their own achievable goals right here at the AESSEAL New York Stadium.

FIT MILLERS RETURNS JANUARY 2023
Fit Millers is a 12-week programme for men and women aged 35-65 who are overweight or obese.
The activity sessions are tailored to those new to exercise, or those who have been out of the swing of things for a while. Each week we work through 45 minutes of discussion topics on healthy eating, activity, hydration and alcohol followed by 45 minutes activity. The project is aimed at anybody looking for a new challenge, and all aspects of the session are delivered within New York Stadium.
Monday’s: 6pm-7:30pm MALE session at New York Stadium starting on Monday 9th January
Thursday’s: 6pm-7:30pm FEMALE session at New York Stadium starting on Thursday 12th January
