We welcome Sarah to the Trust as our new Employability and Skills Officer. Joining just before Christmas and having now settled into the role, we are proud to have over 20 years of experience helping individuals secure employment, training and education.

Sarah first helped out the trust in May 2022, volunteering at Rotherham Leisure Centre during our Easter Healthy Holiday Camps to provide swimming, multi-sports, and healthy activities for eligible children. An opportunity then arose at the Trust to manage our employability sector, with Sarah being more than qualified with a Level 4 in Advice and Guidance and previously working for Connexions, Early Help, and Morthyng Vocational College, we are lucky to have here skillset and knowledge join the Trust.

“I’m all about the young people and helping those who need support and guidance into employment. Ultimately the aim is to provide long term work and career pathways in the Rotherham community”

The Feel Well Work Well Programme primarily supports young people with their mental health so that they can build confidence with us whilst improving their CV, interview skills and job searching. This process can involve referrals to the Mind charity and to our many different sessions at the Trust to help build confidence and a positive mindset.

The DWP Contract is for those ready for work but need assistance in reaching that goal, we work very closely with Leanne from The Job Centre to offer advice and guidance to secure suitable employment. The DWP has always provided outstanding support and had allowed us to get this exciting Youth, Community & Employability Hub up and running.

Education Manager, James Mahoney said: “We are delighted that Sarah is on board with us, her wealth of experience and skills will benefit so many participants in our range of employability programmes
