Rotherham United Community Sports Trust are delighted to announce our Emerging Talent Centre.

Emerging Talent Centre Open Sessions Begin 14th November 2022
BOOK ON HERE

The Emerging talent is our new advanced pay to play development centre. The aim of this centre is for children aged 8 – 15 years old, who are playing grassroot football to develop their footballing ability and give them an environment and platform to reach their highest potential, whatever that might be.  The children in the programme will have the opportunity to represent Rotherham United Community Sports Trust in fixtures and festival against other football clubs.  Children who are deemed talented are offered a free three-week trial period, if they think the programme is right for them and so do the coaches, they will be invited into the programme. The programme also includes:

  • 2 x 1.5-hour training sessions a week (term time only)
  • 1 futsal session a month
  • 3 x player reviews a year
  • Comprehensive games programme included in the macro cycle
  • FA and UEFA qualified coaches
  • RUFC academy coaches working in the programme
  • £40 a month – No increase if there are more contact time added that month.

Dave Atkinson, one of the coaches and Foundation Phase Lead for RUFC academy said” it’s great to see the launch of the Emerging Talent Centre with the Community Trust. This will offer highly quality coaching to young footballers in Rotherham, this programme will continue, and no doubt strengthen the link between the Community Trust and Rotherham United Academy”

Ash Donovan, Football Development Officer for RUCST said “To be able to get this programme up and running is a great thing for RUCST and the children in the local area. We feel it is important to provide a platform for children in Rotherham to experience high quality coaching in an environment that prioritises development over anything else. We want children to be able to reach their highest potential, this could be a player performing at a higher level for their grassroots team or helping a player into the progressive pathways at RUFC academy, but for us, both examples are equally important”

The Emerging talent are hosting open sessions during November for children from u9 to u14’s. To sign up for the open session, please click on the link here: https://forms.office.com/r/YGZmvHSuNH
