Our Future Stars camps at Wickersley Sports College have come to a close after a successful month of exciting football, training, and activities with Rotherham United Community Sports Trust.

Our Future Stars camps are one of the biggest events we host throughout the year. In August we have had over 400 individuals attending our camps with wonderful feedback from both parents and children praising the inspiring staff and brilliant facilities. The children arrive at 9:00am until 4:00pm with access to Wickersley School and Sports College’s indoor sports hall and an outdoor astro-turf pitch, as they enjoy full days of football training, competitions, games & tournaments from our experienced UEFA qualified coaches. The Future Stars team can’t wait to return with our Halloween October Camps later this year. Take a look at the link further down the page to find out more information.

FUTURE STARS WICKERSLEY OCTOBER HALF TERM CAMP  – 24/10/2022 – 28/10/2022

FUTURE STARS WICKERSLEY OCTOBER 3 DAY CAMP | GIRLS ONLY 24/10/2022 – 26/10/2022

With the football season returning and Rotherham United FC starting their campaign back in the EFL Championship, it was a great opportunity to invite some familiar faces to celebrate our camps and meet some of their biggest fans. We have had special guests, Oliver Rathbone, Viktor Johansson, Hakeem Odoffin and Tolaji Bola come down to sign autographs, play some football and answer any questions from our participants. We also took the opportunity to welcome new RUFC players Georgie Kelly and Jamie McCart to get them involved in the Rotherham community.

With a hugely successful year for women’s football, we have seen an increase in girls coming to our camps this year. In the build-up to the UEFA Women’s Euros Final 2022 we were joined by Hallam FM and ITV News, speaking to Mark White, Girl and Ladies Football Coordinator and the participants about the lionesses’ achievements and women’s footballing opportunities in Rotherham.

Mark White, Girl and Ladies Football Coordinator said:

“These camps are an amazing opportunity for girls to enjoy their summer and potentially start a new hobby or career in playing football. The lionesses have made us very proud and it’s a huge inspiration for these girls and the future of women’s football”
