Men’s weight loss football league is back for its 8th season and we want you to get involved!

Love football? Want to lose weight? We run weekly sessions aimed at men with a BMI of 27.5 or over to join a sociable way to lose weight through playing football.

Whether you’re looking for a thinner waistline or if you’re looking for a Friday night of football with other men your age. We have a fantastic group who are always looking for more guys to join.

If you’re overweight or obese, losing weight can reduce your risk of some potentially serious health problems. Most people who need to lose weight can get health benefits from losing even a small amount (about 5%) of their weight if they keep it off. (NHS England)

Our Man v Fat Football league is now in its 8th season and the results speak for themselves. With the top scorers losing around 3 stone and 30 cm off their waist in just 14 weeks there’s no wonder we are one of the top performing leagues in the country.

Add to that a handful of men reversing their type 2 diabetes and a vast improvements in mental health scores across the league, there’s nowhere else we would rather be on a Friday evening.

Come along and join around 80 other men down at Parkgate Astro every Friday between 7-9pm.


League points are scored on the pitch during a 30 minute 7 aside game, but more importantly points are scored by the number of players losing weight that week. Added goals for completing your food diary, losing weight 3 times, and reducing your body weight by 5% and 10% means there’s no need to be a Ronaldo to win this league.
